Brewpub Near Me in Shinagawa: Yona Yona Tokyo Brewery's Station-Side Tanks
Yona Yona Tokyo Brewery opened on 30 March 2026 in Shinagawa Intercity, 2-15-2 Konan, with a brewery behind glass, a 28-tap island bar, roast chicken and ¥3,520 tours.
Yona Yona Tokyo Brewery takes cashless payment only, and the roast chicken everyone orders needs 25 to 40 minutes in the oven, so order it with your first beer. The restaurant opened on Monday 30 March 2026 in the basement of the S&R building at Shinagawa Intercity, 2-15-2 Konan, Minato-ku, about six minutes on foot from JR Shinagawa Station. It has 197 seats and a working brewery, which makes it the biggest answer in Tokyo to a brewpub near me search at a major rail hub.

Karuizawa Brewer, Tokyo Tanks
The restaurant is a joint project between YOHO Brewing Company, the Karuizawa brewer best known for Yona Yona Ale, and the restaurant group Wondertable. The two companies already ran the Yona Yona Beer Works bars together, but this is the first of their sites with its own brewery. It opened on the day Shinagawa Intercity reopened all of its shops after a renewal that began in September 2025.
The space covers about 850 square metres. The brewhouse sits behind glass and the companies say it can be seen from almost every seat. A brewer from YOHO is based here full time. Spent grain from the brewhouse goes to NPA Fujisawa Farm, where it is mixed into feed for Shamo-type chickens, which the companies describe as a small loop from brewery waste back to the dinner table.
Beers You Can Only Drink Here
The house tanks produce three or four beers at a time. Gate One is the flagship, a crisp beer with a citrus hop aroma that the brewery pitches as the first glass after work. Around it, three series rotate every month or two: Japan Edge, built on Japanese ingredients and techniques, Tokyo Pop, aimed at people who rarely drink craft beer, and Seasonal Limited, where the brewer experiments. The opening Japan Edge beer, Sakura Knot, used cherry leaves.
In October 2026 the board shows how fast it moves. A Seasonal Limited beer called Hop Yard Stroll went on tap on 5 October, and the Tokyo Pop pumpkin beer, Pan Pan Pumpkin, followed on 15 October. September's limited beer was Wa-Kocha Bitter, brewed with Japanese black tea. On 13 October the restaurant announced a gold and a silver medal at International Beer Cup 2026.
The Island Bar and the Rest of the Lineup
The centre of the room is a circular island bar with 28 taps, and the restaurant counts more than 30 taps in total, including dedicated taps for takeaway beer. Beyond the house brews, the bar pours YOHO's core range: Yona Yona Ale with its Cascade hop aroma, Suiyoubi no Neko, a white beer with orange peel and coriander, and Indo no Aooni, the brewery's notoriously bitter IPA.
There are stranger choices too. Nemureru Shishishi is a 10 percent beer, and Shoki no Satan is a 0.7 percent beer with IPA-style hops for anyone who wants flavour without the alcohol. Karuizawa Beer's Craftsaurus series adds a pale ale, a Brut IPA and a black IPA. If you are new to YOHO, skip the strongest beers on a first round and start with Gate One, because it is the beer you cannot get anywhere else.
Roast Chicken, House Sausages and Lunch
The kitchen has two signatures. The roast chicken uses Saisai chicken and comes in an original or spicy version, and because of that 25 to 40 minute cooking time it suits a long evening better than a quick drink. The sausages are made in house from Shirahime pork from Chiba, from mincing to stuffing. For groups there is the Utage-Dish series of oversized sharing platters, which the companies say is only served at this location.
The dinner menu also includes wagyu carpaccio, a cheese pasta gratin, smoked potato chips, pickles and a forest salad topped with hot sautéed mushrooms and bacon. On weekdays the lunch menu runs from 11:30, with a homemade hot dog served with soup, a ginger pork plate, a roast chicken curry plate and soy sauce yakisoba. The restaurant does not list prices for these dishes on its website.
Brewery Tours and Beer Classes
The brewery tour takes you into the brewing area to see the equipment and taste beer straight from the tank. It costs ¥3,520 a person, lasts about an hour and takes 15 people per session, booked in advance. October dates are Sunday 18 October at 11:40 and 14:40, Monday 19 October at 18:40 and Sunday 25 October at 11:40 and 14:40. November sessions on the 8th and 9th go on sale at noon on 2 November.
For office workers there is Yona Yona Ale University, an introduction to craft beer with five tastings, held in the atrium in front of the restaurant on Building A's B1 floor. It costs ¥2,750, runs about an hour from 18:30 and takes 12 people. The October class is on Friday 23 October and November's on Friday 20 November. On Thursday nights the restaurant books DJs, led by its music producer DJ Taro, and on 31 October it holds a Halloween party.
When to Go and How to Get In
Weekday hours are split: lunch from 11:30 to 15:00 and dinner from 17:00 to 23:00, with food last orders an hour before each close. On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays the doors stay open from 11:30 to 23:00. The restaurant pitches itself at Shinagawa's office crowd, from the after-work flagship beer to the weekday-night classes, so book through Wondertable's CLUB WONDER system if you are a group, or arrive at 17:00 when the dinner service starts.
If you arrive between 15:00 and 17:00 on a weekday, the restaurant is closed. The Shinagawa Intercity Central Garden, the garden whose cherry blossoms inspired Sakura Knot, is part of the same complex and a pleasant place to wait. Because the complex is connected to the station, the walk from the ticket gates stays dry in the rain, which matters on a wet October evening.
Practical Notes
Address: Shinagawa Intercity S&R Building B1F, 2-15-2 Konan, Minato-ku, Tokyo. It is about six minutes from JR Shinagawa Station, five from the Shinkansen gates, and eight from Keikyu Shinagawa or Kita-Shinagawa. Payment is cashless only: credit cards, transport IC cards and QR payment apps are accepted, but not cash. The brewery tour costs ¥3,520 and the beer class ¥2,750.
The restaurant has a wheelchair-accessible entrance, toilets and seating, and strollers are welcome, though there are no high chairs. Of the 197 seats, 33 are at the counter, which is the best place for solo drinkers to watch the brewhouse. A merchandise corner sells growlers, glasses and cans, so you can take a can of Yona Yona Ale home even after the limited beers run out.
