Park Slope Vinyasa Yoga Studio, $45 Week One: Brooklyn Flow
Brooklyn Flow teaches vinyasa at 198 5th Ave in Park Slope, with a $28 drop-in and a $45 unlimited first week. Arrive early, since doors close 5 minutes in.
Brooklyn Flow is the Park Slope vinyasa yoga studio at 198 5th Ave, and a single drop-in class costs $28 with the mat included. First-timers should start with the One Week Unlimited for $45, a one-time offer that expires seven days after first use with no extensions. Arrive five to ten minutes early: the studio closes its doors five minutes after class begins, so a late train means missing class.
Bend and Bloom, Renamed and Moved to Fifth Avenue
If you remember Bend and Bloom on Sackett Street, this is the same studio under a new name. The old website now carries a single notice reading Bend + Bloom Is now Brooklyn Flow, pointing to the Fifth Avenue address. Founder Amy Quinn Suplina still leads the team page and still teaches, including a 9:00 am Vinyasa Flow on Tuesday in the upstairs room. She also started the free Prospect Park Yoga series in 2008, which explains the neighborhood loyalty.
The move put the studio in a two-floor space on Fifth Avenue, one of the Slope's main shopping streets. The ground-floor entrance, studio and restrooms are ADA compliant, and the second-floor Sky Studio is reached only by stairs. When booking, note which room a class uses. If climbing stairs is a problem, filter the schedule for the Ground Studio rather than discovering the stairs at the door.
The Flow Classes Worth Booking
The core offer is Vinyasa Flow, a creative, energetic mixed-level class in 60 and 75-minute versions, pitched at students already familiar with yoga basics. Sunrise Flow is the 60-minute early option. The hybrids are where the studio differs from a gym class: Flow + Restore and Slow Flow + Restore run 75 minutes and finish with long supported poses, while Slow Flow + Reiki and Flow to Yin trade the last stretch of movement for stillness.
Most rooms are unheated. The class description list includes a Vinyasa Warm Room session with the room warmed to 82 degrees, but it was not on the schedule for the last week of October 2026, so do not plan around it. For a complete beginner, a Slow Flow class is the honest first step, since the standard Vinyasa Flow assumes you already know a downward dog from a cobra.
Prices From Drop-In to Annual
The posted prices are simple. A drop-in is $28. The 10 Class Pack is $260 with a six-month expiration, and the 20 Class Pack is $480. A six-classes-per-month auto-renew plan costs $120 a month with a two-month minimum. Unlimited is $195 a month on auto-renew, $240 for a single month that does not renew, or $1980 for a year. The studio also sets aside a limited number of reduced-rate class packs for lower-income students.
One change regulars will notice is the intro deal. Yelp reviews from July 2025 describe a two-week intro for $45, and the current pricing page gives one week for the same $45. Use it deliberately: book five or six classes across both rooms in those seven days, try one Sunrise Flow and one restore hybrid, and only then decide between the ten-pack and a membership.
Mats are available, and there are no mat towels, so bring your own towel for a sweaty flow. The ten-pack is the sweet spot for most people. It brings the per-class price to $26, keeps six months of flexibility and avoids the auto-renew commitment, while unlimited only pays off if you practice at least twice a week every week.
Rules That Catch New Students
Unlimited members pay a $5 fee for cancelling within one hour of class and $10 for a no-show. Workshops need 24 hours of notice instead. Classes with fewer than three sign-ups can be cancelled an hour before start, so book early rather than waiting to see who else is going. Both yoga rooms are phone-free zones, so leave the phone in a locker or your bag at the wall.
There are free lockers, two changing rooms and a water station, but no showers, so plan a morning class around a trip home afterward. The fair complaint, from a January 2026 Yelp reviewer, is that popular classes get uncomfortably overbooked. Book the evening Vinyasa Flow slots well ahead, and if one is already crowded, switch to a 75-minute Flow + Restore that day, which gives you more floor space and a slower finish.
When the Rooms Are Busiest
For the week of October 22, 2026, the first and last class start times are Monday 7:30 am to 7:45 pm, Tuesday 9:00 am to 7:15 pm, Wednesday 7:30 am to 7:30 pm, Thursday 7:30 am to 7:15 pm, Friday 9:00 am to 7:45 pm, Saturday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm and Sunday 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. The 7:45 pm Friday slot is Collective Rest, a 75-minute sound and body session, not a flow.
Reviewers describe the space as bright and calming and say the studio is clean, and a July 2025 reviewer noted they have mats ready for students who arrive without one. Weekday early slots at 7:30 am suit commuters heading to the R train. Sunday is the only day with a full spread from morning to 7:00 pm, which makes it the easiest day to fit a class around errands.
Fifth Avenue and Washington Park After Class
Walk south along Fifth Avenue to Third Street and turn toward Washington Park, home of the reconstructed Old Stone House, where the Battle of Brooklyn was fought in 1776. Continue uphill to Prospect Park West for a longer loop in Prospect Park, the same park where the founder's free outdoor series began. Fifth Avenue itself has enough cafes and bakeries between Union and Carroll Streets for a post-class coffee.
Practical Notes
Take the R to Union Street or the 2 and 3 to Bergen Street, or use the B63 bus at Fifth Avenue and Union Street. Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center is a longer walk but connects almost every line. Questions go to hello@brooklynflow.com, the contact address listed on every page of the studio site. The front desk does not publish separate hours, so the class schedule is the guide.
