Resy still runs a real chunk of San Francisco dining, just not the chunk most roundups describe. Check the restaurants' own booking buttons rather than a third-party list and the picture changes quickly: a number of the names that defined best-on-Resy guides have moved to OpenTable, while the rooms that stayed have sharpened their release rules. What follows is a current read of the city's Resy roster, organised by how hard the table is to get rather than by neighbourhood or cuisine.
Reservation platforms in San Francisco change without announcement, and a stale link is how you end up refreshing the wrong app at 10 a.m. Karpo checks a restaurant's own booking page before you build a night around it.
The names that already left
Start with the corrections, because they save the most time. Rich Table's own site now routes every reservation button to OpenTable. So does Delfina at 3621 18th Street, which serves 5:15 to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 5 to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Ernest, at 1890 Bryant Street, books through OpenTable as well and caps online parties at six; groups of seven or more have to use the restaurant's own event inquiry form. Dalida, in the Presidio at 101 Montgomery Street, releases OpenTable tables 30 days out and runs lunch Tuesday to Friday, brunch on weekends and dinner Tuesday to Sunday. Che Fico, Nopa, State Bird Provisions, Zuni Cafe, Angler and House of Prime Rib have all landed on OpenTable too. Even Tadich Grill, which spent more than a century famously refusing reservations, now takes them there. If a guide tells you to set a Resy alert for any of those, it was written from an older version of the city. Che Fico is the exception on that list: it has been closed since a kitchen flue fire on 11 June 2026 and has announced no reopening date, so it cannot currently be booked on any platform.
Resy rooms you can still walk into
Flour + Water is the most dependable Resy anchor left in the Mission. It sits at 2401 Harrison Street, serves 5 to 9:30 p.m. seven days a week, and its own line is that reservations are encouraged but walk-ins are accepted, which is a genuinely rare combination for a restaurant of its reputation. Song Wat, the Thai room at 312 Divisadero Street in the Lower Haight, is on Resy and built for the same behaviour: booths, big tables, and a menu of pumpkin curry and crackly corn cakes that does not require a month of planning. Rose Pizzeria opened its San Francisco branch at 1 Clement Street in March 2026 and runs 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, making it one of the few Resy listings in town where lunch is a real option rather than a theory.
The 10 a.m. rolling drop
Two of the city's most-wanted Resy tables release on the same clock, and knowing the exact mechanic is most of the game. Mister Jiu's, at 28 Waverly Place in Chinatown, opens availability 30 days ahead at 10 a.m. Pacific on a rolling basis, so a new date appears every single morning rather than arriving as a monthly batch. It serves Tuesday to Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 to 9:30 p.m., closes Sunday and Monday, and states plainly that it cannot accept reservations by phone or email, so there is no back door to work. Rintaro, the izakaya at 82 14th Street, uses a 28-day window that also opens at 10 a.m. It opens daily at 5 p.m. with a last seating at 10 p.m., closes on Tuesdays, and describes its walk-in seating as very limited.
Prepaid seats and single seatings
The strangest listing on San Francisco's Resy page is Folklore, a ten-seat tasting salon in the Financial District that does not publish its address at all; you receive it with your confirmation. Seatings run Thursday to Saturday from 6 p.m., with the last seating at 8:30 p.m., and dinner is a set, all-inclusive price in the region of $500 a head with pairings, with a lower rate for members. The same team runs a Friday and Saturday coffee tasting at $80 per person plus a 15 percent service charge, also prepaid through Resy. It is worth flagging because it inverts the usual assumption: on Resy you are normally holding a table, but here you are buying a ticket, and the cancellation terms behave accordingly.
New arrivals worth a notify alert
SAAM opened at 415 Brannan Street on 24 July 2026, the first restaurant outside Asia from Bangkok chef Thitid Tassanakajohn, whose Le Du and Nusara both hold Michelin stars, with Tee Atthapon running the floor. It went onto Resy's own August hit list almost immediately. Esme, chef Susan Dunn's 32-seat French bistro at 311 Divisadero Street, opened in late June 2026 in the former Ragazza space and runs Tuesday to Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. The useful detail there: Esme holds back several tables and a five-seat counter every night for walk-ins, so a failed Resy search is not the end of the evening. Good Good Culture Club in the Mission, the sister room to Liholiho Yacht Club, remains one of the steadier Resy bookings in that stretch of the city.
Working the drop
Three habits do most of the work. Set Notify instead of refreshing, because cancellations at rooms this small are frequent and an alert beats manual checking. Be in the app before 9:59 a.m. Pacific on a drop day; a rolling 30-day window means the date you want surfaces once and disappears in seconds. And remember that American Express owns both Resy and Tock, so card-linked access to prime slots is a real structural advantage rather than a rumour. One more caution: platform ownership itself moves. Sons and Daughters, which relocated to a larger Mission space, has been handing out different platform links for different months on its own reservations page, which is exactly why a booking link screenshotted from a guide has a short shelf life.
Several of these rooms are as much wine bars as restaurants, and the tasting formats come with pairings by default. If you are working through one, please drink responsibly and sort out your ride home before the last pour.

Reservation platforms, release times and closing days in San Francisco change faster than any published guide can track. Several restaurants in this piece switched platforms or hours within the past year, and at least one still appears on Resy lists it left long ago.
