Your Party Gets the Whole Airboat at Mile Marker 38.5

Captain Bill Ferris runs this one as a private charter, so the boat carries your party and nobody else. Ninety minutes on the water, launched from a roadside landing on US-27 that has no street address of its own.

Take the whole airboat at mile marker 38.5.

US-27 runs west out of Fort Lauderdale, and the landing sits on the east side of the road at mile marker 38.5. The operator says on its own site that the launch has no street address you can type into a map. You search for the business by name instead, or you let the driver do it. Uber and Lyft both come out this far, which the operator confirms. There is no shuttle and no hotel pickup.

Booking here is by the boat, not by the seat. The listing sells four fixed party sizes, and the per-person rate falls as the party grows. Everyone on the booking has to be thirteen or older.

What the Ninety Minutes Is Spent Doing

Cypress Outdoor Adventures says it does not run a set circuit. Its FAQ says the company is not a tourist trap that feeds wildlife or takes you around the same circle as everyone else, and that it chooses different trails each time. That is the operator's own account of itself, and nothing in the booking record either confirms it or contradicts it.

What the listing does commit to is ninety minutes, fixed, with an English-speaking guide and no other party on board. American alligators are the animal the operator names first. Its own framing is a search through natural habitat, so no particular sighting is promised on any given run.

When You Can Actually Go

Sixteen departure times are listed, running from 7:30 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon. Twelve of them are real. Across the 354 days of availability currently loaded, the 7:30 slot never opens once, and the 8:00, 8:30 and 9:00 slots open on a single day, 31 January 2027. In practice the first departure you can book is 9:30 and the last is 4:00.

Summer deserves a separate look. The operator's own day tour page says that from June 1 to August 30 it runs early morning only, and this booking calendar offers no early morning slot in those months or in any other. A July booking made here is a midday or an afternoon one. Season changes the wildlife too: the operator says migratory birds move through at different times of year, so what crosses the grass in January is not what crosses it in July.

Four Seats Is the Floor, Seven the Ceiling

The booking record lists a minimum of one traveler and a maximum of ten. Neither number is what the system will sell you. Running the live availability check for one, two, three or eight travelers returns no bookable option at all. Only parties of four, five, six and seven can book this listing, and each party size is its own fixed option. The per-person rate falls as the party grows, so seven people pay the least per head and four the most. Two people cannot book this one between them.

There is one age band on sale, thirteen to ninety-nine, and the availability system rejects a child booking outright. Captain Bill's own site says people of all ages enjoy his tours, and that children six and under wear a Coast Guard approved life vest. That age floor is a property of this booking. The boat itself is more open than that.

No Restroom at the Landing

The operator's FAQ says there are no restrooms at the launch, and points to facilities a couple of miles south at 1006 N US Highway 27 in Weston. Sort that out before you drive, because ninety minutes is a long time on open water.

Its packing list is short enough to follow exactly: polarized sunglasses, which cut the glare so you can see down into the water, sunscreen, a hat, bug repellent and shoes. For the winter months it adds warm clothes to shield from the wind. You can bring a small cooler, and the listing allows snacks, drinks, alcohol and smoking on board for anyone of legal age. Gratuity for the captain sits outside the price. Cancel more than twenty-four hours ahead and the booking refunds in full; inside that window it does not, and the operator adds that it will not run in unsafe weather.

What the ninety minutes gives back depends on the day: an alligator holding still in the shallows, a wading bird lifting off the grass, or open water and engine noise and nothing much else.
