Your Own Kayak Fishing Guide Near NYC for Six Hours

The guide brings the kayak, rod, bait and fish finder, then teaches you how to use them.

Spend six hours kayak fishing near NYC.

Each booking covers a single angler. Nobody else shares the guide's attention for the day, which matters most to a first-timer still finding their balance in a fishing kayak.

David E Otani runs the trip and describes himself as a professional fisherman and kayaker. The listing pairs lessons on the kayak and the fishing gear with safety and fishing tips, and the trip runs in English.

Prices on the listing start at USD 564.11 per person, and bookings confirm instantly. No reviews have been posted yet.

A County Island on Long Island Sound

The listing's activity point falls inside Glen Island Park, a 105-acre Westchester County park in New Rochelle joined to the mainland by a drawbridge built in the 1920s. Its crescent beach looks out on Long Island Sound.

Small islands sit in the water to the east, Davids Island and Huckleberry Island among them.

Glen Island Admits Westchester Residents Only

The county runs the park, and admission requires Westchester residency: a county Park Pass, or a New York State driver's license with a Westchester address. The boat ramp is for residents only and opens April through October.

Visitors without either cannot enter the park on their own. If you live outside the county, agree on a different meeting point with the guide in advance, or ask for pickup anywhere in Manhattan, at an extra charge the listing does not publish.

The stone castles near the shore are older than the county park. They went up in the late 19th century as a beer garden and restaurant for John Starin's resort.

The Kit Comes From the Guide, Lunch From You

The kit list covers the kayak, a life vest (PFD), a fish finder / GPS, a rod and reel, bait or lures, and drinking water. Food is not included, and six hours is a long stretch to go without it.

The listing names no target species or season. Its photos show a striped bass laid across a kayak bow and a flatfish stretched on a measuring board.

Who Can Book

The listing's single age band runs from 21 to 60. It asks for at least a moderate level of physical fitness and does not recommend the trip for pregnant travelers or anyone with poor cardiovascular health. The booking form also asks for your height and weight.

  • Booking closes 10 hours before the start time.
  • Mobile or paper tickets are accepted.
  • Cancel at least 24 hours before the start for a full refund.

📍 Where you meet is settled with the guide, who offers to come to whatever spot suits you and the day's fishing plan. From there, the kayak, the rod and the next six hours are yours.
