Description

An immersive exhibition traces how punk, disco, and hip hop sprang up in 1970s New York and exploded worldwide amid financial crisis. Relics of the era unfold inside spaces reminiscent of the period's clubs, bars, and gathering places, featuring an original CBGB awning, guitars from the Ramones, Stooges, Blondie, and Talking Heads, Studio 54 material, lyric sheets from Patti Smith, Richard Hell, and Kurtis Blow, and Grandmaster Flash's original turntables.
