World's End
4.7 (1,645)park
Olmsted carriage paths wind over coastal hills, opening to sweeping views across Hingham Harbor to the Boston skyline.
Description

Spread across more than 400 acres, the park encompasses four coastal drumlins formed by glaciers. The land survived an unbuilt 163-home subdivision planned in 1890, as well as subsequent proposals for the Nations Headquarters and a nuclear power plant. Today, wide gravel walking trails trace rolling inclines through saltwater marshes, meadows, and woodlands, skirting granite ledges covered in Eastern Red Cedars and blueberry thickets with open views of the Weir River.
