🧠 How the Night Works
Punderdome is a long running Brooklyn show hosted by Fred Firestone and comedian Jo Firestone, where competitors build two minute pun routines with two minutes to prepare and a loud, invested crowd decides who advances. The Halloween edition on Wednesday, October 28 adds a Main Event tournament of champions, a one on one challenge against the reigning champ, and the 12th annual pun costume competition.
🎭 Getting on Stage
Only six people get on stage in the Pun Battle Royale, and those spots go to whoever signs up at the bar after doors open at 7 PM, first come. Everyone else watches, and the crowd's applause, the show's Human Clap-O-Meter, decides who advances. Challengers facing the reigning Dome Champ receive their topic 24 hours ahead, while the champ hears it only when the round starts. Winners take home up to 100 dollars, and the 12th annual pun costume contest is the moment to wear a pun.
🎟️ Tickets and Fit
Doors open at 7 PM and the show runs from 8 PM to 10:30 PM at littlefield, 635 Sackett Street in Gowanus. The event is 21 and over, Eventbrite lists tickets at about 15 to 20 dollars, and sales are final with no refunds. The room gets loud, and the organizers recommend hearing protection for anyone sensitive to noise. It suits word nerds, stand up regulars and groups of friends looking for a weeknight show that is part game and part performance.
