This 180-year-old home uses touchscreen tours to explore the lives of the Root family and their enslaved servants.

Description

As one of the oldest and best-preserved homes in the Atlanta area, the site was the first house museum in the States to offer a fully self-guided touchscreen tour. Alongside the screens, the rooms feature award-winning exhibits, scavenger hunts, activity books, and interactive areas designed to engage visitors of all ages.

The visitor center sits inside a refurbished 1830s log cabin from Cobb County, paired with a gift shop featuring handcrafted pieces and small-batch mercantile goods.
