Description

Set into the UC Berkeley foothills, this century-old bowl offers sightlines that stretch past the Campanile to Mount Tamalpais and the Golden Gate Bridge. Despite its size, the space is known for its intimate feel and excellent acoustics. Audiences watch from concrete stone seating, looking down at the stage and out over the San Francisco skyline. The venue maintains a relaxed policy toward outside food and blankets, making the stone tiers feel a bit more like a communal picnic ground, though food and alcohol are also sold inside.
