Description

Set within the Honolulu Watershed Forest Reserve’s Wailupe section, the route begins on a dirt access road lined with formosa koa and guava before reaching the trailhead about 1.5 miles in. From there, the path climbs straight up the ridge into native koa-uluhe forest, passing a HECO tower on its way toward the crest. Along the way, the trail offers looks at various native plants, though the terrain includes notices for hazardous cliffs and falling trees along the steeper stretches.
