Who Rides With Neptune? An App-Led Virginia Beach Boardwalk Hunt

A riddle and photo hunt along the Virginia Beach Boardwalk, run from your own phone with no guide and no fixed start time.

The Let's Roam app is the guide here, and no person comes along. It hands out the route, the riddles and the photo challenges, and it keeps score on a leaderboard.

Each player takes a role, Brainiac, Photographer or Mapper, and the challenges change with it. The hunt covers the Beach Boardwalk and the streets around it, looking for buildings, sculptures and plaques whose answers only turn up on the spot.

As of October 15, 2026, the booking calendar priced every player the same, USD 12.31, with one price band for all ages and no minimum age. One booking covers 1 to 10 players.

The listing's hours run 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM every day, and the confirmation arrives at booking with the app download link. All sales are final, and a cancellation earns no refund.

Redeem the Voucher Before You Reach Atlantic Avenue

The booking arrives as a voucher, and it has to be linked inside the app before the hunt will open. The confirmation lays out the order: download the Let's Roam app from the link on your phone, open the store icon at the top right, log in with Facebook, Google or a text message, tap 3rd Party Vouchers and enter the voucher or order number, then pick the hunt and add players.

Do all of that before you leave for the boardwalk. A July 2026 review called the download-and-link step tedious. The listing also asks for fully charged phones and a power bank if you need one, and the confirmation carries a phone line for support.

Riddles Only the Boardwalk Can Answer

The listing prints two of the hunt's questions: what is the oldest structure in the resort area, and which sea creatures are riding along with Neptune. The answers are out on the oceanfront, so they stay unanswered here.

The listing names the fishing pier, 17th Street Park and a stop called Shells among the sights, and the operator's page for this hunt adds the Virginia Legends Walk and the Virginia Beach Surf and Rescue Museum. Expect to read plaques, statues and public art up close, phone in hand. The photos from each player's challenges come back as digital copies, included in the price.

Two Miles, Shared Phones and a Role for Kids

Plan on walking. The operator's page puts the route at 2.01 miles and 1.5 hours, while the listing allows 120 minutes.

One phone can carry up to four characters, according to the operator, so a family does not need a device per person. The operator also describes a Youngster character written for kids. The listing asks for at least a moderate level of fitness and ticks wheelchair and stroller access; weigh those checkboxes against the two-mile figure for your group.

Weather, Refunds and Support

The booking does not cancel itself for bad weather, and a cancellation earns no refund, so the forecast is yours to watch. The listing's weather note asks for comfortable shoes and clothes for the day.

Attraction entry, food and drinks are extra. One July 2026 reviewer wrote that the hunt closed in the app before the group had finished. In reply, the operator said the hunt is built to run at your own pace and asked for booking details through its support team, so keep the support number from your confirmation handy.

📍 Start: 1415 Atlantic Avenue, Virginia Beach, VA 23451. The fishing pier is the first sight the listing names, the listing notes public transport nearby, and service animals are allowed.

Charge every phone, settle the roles over breakfast, and let the first riddle send you along the boardwalk.
