Where To Catch Live Music In A Bushwick Cafe

By day a Bushwick cafe pours coffee over mezze plates, by night an upright piano and drum kit turn it into a live-music room.

🎷 The back room

Cafe Ornithology sits on Broadway in Bushwick, named for the Charlie Parker bebop tune and marked by a Bird Lives mural of a saxophonist out front. The kitchen leans Middle Eastern, with za'atar flatbreads, hummus, and marinated chickpeas spread across communal tables. After the plates clear, an upright piano and a worn drum kit anchor an intimate corner where local players run through jazz and folk sets. Coffee carries the afternoon, natural wine appears at night, and the small room keeps its living-room feel through late sets. Seating is first-come.
