Where Merle Died Twice: A Walking Dead Backlot in Georgia
A guided walk around the old Esco Feed Mill lot south of Senoia, with a replica prop weapon in your hands the whole way.
Haralson, five miles south of Senoia, Georgia, is one of the towns where The Walking Dead filmed, and this walk stays on a single lot there from start to finish: the old Esco Feed Mill property. A guide leads you a third of a mile around it, stopping at the buildings the operator says appear on screen. Everyone carries a replica prop weapon from the operator's armory, and acting out the show's scenes with it is the heart of the walk.
Fans who know Season 3 well get the most from it. Without that, much of what you see reads as old farm buildings.

The listing below sells adult tickets from age 7, and children 6 and under go free on the same order. Tips for the guide are not included.
Walking Dead Walking Tour on Private Filming BacklotSold as 45 minutes · One-third mile on the Esco Feed Mill lot · Replica prop weapon includedwww.viator.comThe Meeting Barn, the Cotton Gin and the Feed Mill

The listing names three stops: the Governor's meeting barn, the cotton gin where Merle died, and the spot where Daryl put down his brother for the last time, plus 14 more scenes filmed on the same property. The operator adds that the Esco Feed Mill itself appears in the show's opening credits.
Travelers describe the guide pulling up each scene on a tablet at the spot where it was shot, and you match the frame to the building in front of you. Several single out the guide's behind-the-scenes stories about the cast. The guide will have you act out scenes for photos; one traveler on a three-person walk found the directed posing awkward.
Rewatch Season 3 Before You Go

Travelers who name a season point mostly to Season 3. One traveler's advice is to rewatch Season 3, episodes 13 and 15, before the walk; both are on the operator's list of episodes filmed inside Haralson. That list runs from Season 2 into Season 6 and also counts the opening credits.
The listing sells the walk as 45 minutes. The operator's FAQ says it can run anywhere from 45 minutes to two hours, depending on how many people come and how engaged they are.
Uneven Ground in Any Weather
It is a third of a mile on foot over what the listing calls slightly uneven terrain, and the tour runs rain or shine. The operator's FAQ warns that patches of grass stay wet and turn muddy, asks you to bring a jacket just in case, and rules out heels. It also says plainly that it gives no refunds over clothing choices. Closed-toe shoes are the safe call; one traveler who came in sandals regretted it in the overgrown grass.
Both the listing and the operator's booking page call the walk wheelchair accessible, and the operator adds that the route crosses uneven terrain. The operator's booking page also welcomes leashed, well-behaved pets, while the listing mentions only service animals.
Drive Yourself and Print the Directions
There is no hotel pickup. The operator says cell signal out here is weak unless you are on Verizon and that Google Maps is spotty; print the directions before you set off. Ride-share drivers will drop you off, but the operator says they will not come back to pick you up. One traveler who arrived by Uber found no ride back to town.
The lot sits at the corner of GA-85 and Line Creek Road. Driving north on GA-85, it is on your right just past a white clapboard Methodist church and a brick Lutheran church. Look for the large green and black sign with an arrow pointing into the parking lot.
📍 Check in inside the Walkin' Dead Tours gift shop building at 10 Line Creek Road, 15 minutes before your slot. Tours leave Saturdays at 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM and Sundays at 1:00 PM; as of October 19, 2026, the booking calendar showed weekend dates through December 27. A full refund needs at least 24 hours' notice. Senoia, whose downtown played Woodbury in Season 3, is five miles north.
