We Still Here mural
attraction
This Germantown portrait of poet Ursula Rucker pairs street art with local youth poetry to honor community resilience.
Description

Created by artist Chip Thomas, known as Jetsonorama, alongside Mural Arts Philadelphia students, the project developed from youth workshops linking previous pandemics and civil rights struggles with equity and collective wellness. Across the wall, Ursula Rucker's call sounds out through a megaphone, surrounded by poetry and imagery contributed by local teenagers and community members. The collaboration also produced a free community zine centered on public health and future hopes, grounding the visual tribute in Germantown's deep legacy of writers and neighborhood voices.
