Waterfront Walks with Golden Gate Views Beyond the Sand
Stroll past a restored marsh at a former military airfield on the San Francisco shoreline.
🏞️ An Airfield Turned Waterfront
Crissy Field puts a former military airfield on your walking route along the San Francisco waterfront. Start with the wide paths beside the sandy beach, where Alcatraz Island sits out across the bay. Take the shoreline slowly, with a pause to look across the water whenever the view catches your attention.
The park also has a restored marsh, giving you another landscape to explore alongside the sand. Golden Gate views make this a walk with a landmark in sight, yet the trails deserve a little time of their own. Plan for both a stroll and a stop rather than treating the beach as a quick backdrop.
Head to 1199 E Beach for the park. Crissy Field is open 24 hours every day, leaving room for an early start or a later wander. Choose your timing around the walk you want, then keep the waterfront at the center of the outing.
