Two ways to watch: line the path as costumed dogs march north, or wait at the finish where judges pick the winners.

🎃 Two Ways to Watch
Along the route, find a spot on the park path between Dinosaur Playground near West 96th Street and West 105th Street, where the parade steps off around 12:30 PM and heads north. At the finish, the costume contest at Ellington in the Park draws the biggest crowd, with judging planned for 1:30 PM and a party with music and giveaways planned for 2 PM. Exact times follow the organizers' schedule on the day.
👀 Spectators Only This Year
Watching is free and needs no sign-up. Registration for marching dogs and contest entries closed on October 19, and this year the open invitation is to cheer. Space around the judging area is not reserved, and a front-row spot is not guaranteed. Arrive at Ellington early to see the contest up close, or start at the playground and walk north with the parade.
🧭 Before You Head Over
The event runs from noon to 3 PM on Saturday, October 24. Sunday, October 25 is the rain date. Check the Riverside Park Conservancy's website or social channels that morning to see whether it has moved. Take the 1 train to 96th Street for the start or 103rd Street for the finish, then walk west to Riverside Drive. The Ellington, a separate restaurant on Broadway at 105th Street, opens at 11 AM on Saturdays.
