Wasioto Park
4.6 (1,739)park
A riverfront park featuring inventive nature play, cooling rain curtains, and an outdoor amphitheater.
Description

Stretching 6.5 acres between the Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge and the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge, the park divides its grounds into distinct, tactile play zones. In The Hollow, family play centers on an undulating “washboard” area, a green maze, and tandem see-saws. Just beyond, The Gorge features climbing ropes and a stone wall embedded with fossils, flanked by a four-person Corian slide built to stay cool under the summer sun.
Paths lead outward to quieter terrain: The Scoops cools walkers along a mist-lined stone route, while The Explorer Trail winds a crushed-stone path through butterfly meadows and plant groves.
