Washington & Old Dominion Railroad Regional Park
4.7 (13)park
Built along a former railbed, this 45-mile paved trail carries cyclists and runners gently across Northern Virginia.
Description

Known locally as the W&OD, the route links Arlington to Purcellville as both a transit artery and an outdoor corridor. Across many sections, an adjacent gravel path for equestrians parallels the paved trail, offering an unpaved alternative. The terrain stays easygoing with only mild undulations, threading past pockets of nature and trailside food stops while absorbing heavy multi-use traffic of walkers, roller skaters, and daily commuters sharing the way.
