Walker Preserve
4.8 (31)park
A 30-acre wooded sanctuary where easy trails wind down to twin creeks and a refurbished 1953 railway tanker car.
Description

Once owned by local developer Ron Walker, who favored preserving mature trees around residential lots, the preserve retains a canopy where neighboring houses only occasionally peek through. The paths combine boardwalk trails with narrow spur trails flanked by head-high stinging nettles, particularly along the Miller Creek Loop. Wildlife ranges from pileated woodpeckers and owls to river otters, while the waters host returning coho and chum salmon alongside routes maintained by Eagle Scout and volunteer projects.
