Wake Up at Niagara Falls, Back in Manhattan by Midnight

Pickup at 11:20 PM on 7th Avenue, seven hours north while the coach does the work, and a full daylight stretch at the falls.

Plan an overnight run to Niagara Falls from 7th Avenue.

The arithmetic is what sells this one. Niagara Falls sits roughly seven hours north of Manhattan, far enough that most visitors budget two days and a hotel room. Intertravel NYC puts that night on the road. The coach leaves 7th Avenue at 11:30 PM and covers the whole distance while the seats are dark, which lands every daylight hour on the American side of the river.

One rest stop each way. A bilingual guide, Spanish and English, rides with the group. You step off in Niagara Falls, New York early enough for the morning light on the water.

Intertravel NYC sells this as a shared coach, up to 52 seats. Confirmation is instant and booking stays open until two hours before departure. Cancel at least 24 hours ahead for a full refund. A departure can also be called off for bad weather or for too few bookings.

The tour holds 4.2 from 73 reviews, a score that tracks how the operator runs a long day.

Six Hours on the American Side

The coach parks and the group walks. Goat Island is the base for the day, with Bridal Veil Falls on one side and the brink of the Horseshoe on the other. The itinerary blocks short guided stops at each viewpoint, then lets everyone loose. Most of the stretch between arrival and the 2:00 PM boarding call is unscheduled.

Lunch is on your own. Top of the Falls, the sit down restaurant beside Terrapin Point, runs daily through September 6, drops to Friday through Sunday until October 11, then closes for the season until late May. In the closed months the island is down to snack stands and souvenir counters, so bring food if your date lands in winter.

The day stays on the New York side of the river. There is no border crossing on this itinerary and no passport needed for the park.

The Boat Is a Separate Decision

Maid of the Mist is not part of the ticket. The operator sends a link on the day for anyone who wants a seat, and you pay the boat directly. An adult ticket is 30.25 dollars, which covers the elevator down to the landing and a souvenir poncho.

The boat is seasonal. The 2026 season runs through November 8, then the dock stays shut until opening day 2027. Rates and schedules are subject to change. If your date falls in the closed months, Cave of the Winds on Goat Island runs year round, 14 dollars for an adult from October 19 through March 31.

Twenty-Two Hours, Door to Door

The listed duration is twenty-two hours, and about fourteen of them are on the road. The coach has air conditioning and a washroom on board for emergencies. Food and drink are not included. One rider on Intertravel's own site puts it: "There was no water or snacks on the bus so make sure to bring your own."

Intertravel lists the tour as suitable for all physical fitness levels and flags it as unsuitable for travelers with spinal injuries. Infants ride on an adult's lap and can travel in a pram or stroller. Service animals are allowed. One booking covers up to 30 travelers.

Getting Back Into Manhattan

Boarding for the return starts at 2:00 PM. The coach drops the group on 8th Avenue at 41st Street, at the edge of Times Square, between 10:00 PM and midnight.

📍 Pickup is the main door on 7th Avenue between 51st and 52nd Streets, at 11:20 PM. Bring a layer for the mist and let the falls have the morning.
