Description

Founded by Reverend Yoshio Akizaki, the shrine stood in Kakaako and Moili`ili before finding its permanent home at Hawaii's Plantation Village in Waipahu. The structure features a shake-shingled irimoya roof, chigi, katsuogi, and a wrap-around lanai. Kept intact in 1979 by a grassroots community preservation committee, it is listed on both the State and National Registers of Historic Places.
