Waimanalo Beach
4.8 (212)park
A long sweep of white sand backed by shady ironwood trees, known for turquoise water and energetic shore breaks.
Description

Waimanalo offers a noticeably less crowded atmosphere than many Oahu shores, where the experience is shaped primarily by the active ocean. Vigorous surf makes the beach a draw for boogie boarding and confident swimmers heading deeper out, while anyone hoping for a placid, sheltered dip will find the conditions demanding. Stationed lifeguards monitor the water, but strong currents and sudden breaks mean novice swimmers and young children generally stay close to the edge. Gusty breezes can also sweep across the sand, keeping the setting brisk, open, and geared toward wave play.
