Waikiki Turtles First, Then Cup Ramen Under a Wooden Roof

Turtle Canyon off Waikiki from a roofed boat, with van pickup near your hotel, crew beside beginners and cup ramen after the swim.

Oceanstar runs this trip out of Kewalo Basin Harbor in Honolulu, and pickup is part of it: a 15-passenger van collects guests at a set spot near their Waikiki hotel. On the 7:30 AM pickup the boat leaves the harbor at 8:00 and is back at 11:00. The 10:30 AM pickup puts you on the water from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Count on four hours door to door. The three hours on the listing are the boat alone.

The run out to Turtle Canyon, off Waikiki, takes 15 to 20 minutes by the operator's FAQ. After the turtle swim comes free time in the water and a snack round on board, where the seating sits under a wooden roof.

The operator's own count is snorkeling plus five extras: jumping off the boat, a floating sea chair, a sea kayak, a stand-up paddleboard and a crew photo session. That matches the 6-in-1 in the listing's name. The booking page offers two pickup times, Monday to Saturday, and confirms instantly.

Non-Swimmers Get a Board and a Crew Member

The operator's FAQ says non-swimmers can join. They get high-buoyancy life jackets and a crew member who stays next to them in the water. Anyone who finds swimming hard can be towed on a board by the crew, for a few minutes or for the whole swim. Staying on the boat is also allowed.

Travelers back this up. One wrote that it was fine even though they couldn't swim at all. Another described holding onto the board at first while a crew member swam alongside pulling it, and added the rule everyone follows at the reef: nobody touches the turtles. The operator's FAQ asks swimmers to keep 10 feet away.

For seasickness, the operator suggests taking medication an hour before. Two travelers, in September and October 2026, gave the same advice, one of them after a day of rough waves.

Paddleboards, Cup Ramen and a Crew With Cameras

The extras come after the turtle swim, and none of them is required. One traveler in October 2026 listed kayaking, the stand-up paddleboard, the floating chairs and jumping off the boat with Diamond Head in the background. Another, the same month, wished there were more paddleboards and kayaks to go around.

Food is a snack round on board. The listing includes cup noodles, sweet treats, hot and cold water, and coffee or tea. The operator's tour page names kimchi and shrimp cup ramen, Pop-Tarts, instant coffee mix and hot tea. Several reviewers single out the ramen, a few of them calling it Korean ramen.

The crew takes photos on the boat at no charge. A GoPro rental costs 40 dollars, paid on site in cash or by bank transfer, and the crew dives down to film the turtles with it. Travelers who brought their own GoPro report the crew filming with theirs too. The listing names guides in English, Korean and Japanese, and a traveler in October 2026 described separate groups for each language.

What the Turtle Guarantee Covers

The listing promises a free return tour when no turtles are spotted, and the operator's FAQ words it the same way: join the same tour again on another day at no charge. The guarantee pays out as a free seat on another day.

Two other rules can move your date. The operator's FAQ sets a minimum of ten guests for a shared departure and offers a new date or a refund when that is not met, and the listing allows cancellation for low numbers or bad weather. The operator adds that it refunds or reschedules when the Coast Guard restricts departures, and that light rain is no problem under the roof.

On your own side, the listing refunds in full when you cancel at least 24 hours before departure, and nothing inside 24 hours.

Pickup Rules, Ages and the Kahala Surcharge

After booking, the operator sends pickup instructions with photos, and each guest gets an individual pickup time at a designated spot near their hotel. When the driver calls your name, the operator asks you to confirm it is OceanStar before you board. The driver waits 5 to 10 minutes. Past 15 minutes late, the operator says you may have to take a taxi to the harbor at your own cost. Pickup from the Kahala Hotel costs extra, and the tour page does not give the amount.

The booking page prices children 3 to 7 and adults 8 to 80, and an adult has to be on every booking. The operator's FAQ accepts children from 24 months with a guardian, and the listing seats infants on an adult's lap. The listing does not recommend the trip for travelers with poor cardiovascular health, and the operator asks guests with heart or joint conditions to check with it before booking.

📍 The boat leaves from Gate D #110 at Kewalo Basin Harbor, and the map pin marks the harbor. Guests driving themselves get parking information from the operator, and the listing points to spaces at the harbor entrance or across from Gate D. The listing asks self-drivers to arrive 10 minutes before check-in.

There is a restroom on the boat, and the operator points to public restrooms and showers at the harbor park. Wear your swimsuit under your clothes, bring a towel, put on sunscreen before you arrive and pack a light jacket. Leave large suitcases at the hotel; small bags are fine. Tips are not included, and the operator's FAQ calls 10 to 20 dollars a person standard. There are no departures on Sundays, which the operator keeps for safety inspections.

The rest is the water off Waikiki, Diamond Head behind the boat and a turtle coming up to breathe.
