Wabasha Street Caves

Carved into the bluffs along the Mississippi River in Saint Paul, these restored sandstone caves were originally mined for silica in the 1800s before operating as a mushroom farm. The subterranean space later transformed into a Prohibition-era nightclub and casino with gangster ties. Today, the venue hosts historic cave tours, ghost tours, motorcoach gangster tours, and weekly swing dance events with live big bands.
