Viking Tours of Newport (Bus Platform 3)

Operating since 1962, this service relies on a fleet of open-air style trolleys to navigate the city’s sites. The Transportation Center acts as the departure point for a variety of itineraries, ranging from broad scenic overviews to extended excursions that include entry into historic mansions. Because these are open-air vehicles, they provide a consistent way to view Newport’s architecture and coastline regardless of minor weather shifts, keeping passengers sheltered while remaining engaged with the environment. Guides typically balance historical facts with local anecdotes, offering a narrative-heavy approach to the transit. While some trolleys feature ADA-compliant lifts, passengers requiring these accommodations should coordinate in advance to ensure the specific vehicle meets their needs.
