Veterans Memorial Park
park
A 10-acre wooded park where walking trails thread through the trees, past a gazebo and memorial flagpole.
Description

Adjacent to the Mountlake Terrace Civic Center and Library, the site was acquired in 1960 as a play area and wooded wildlife preserve. Its trail network doubles as a practical corridor, linking the Town Center to surrounding neighborhood streets and the Community Transit Park and Ride at 236th Street SW. Community landmarks anchor the grounds, including a memorial plaque and flagpole dedicated in 1969 by the American Legion to US Armed Forces veterans, and a 1990 gazebo raised by the Lions Club honoring longtime local optometrist Dr. Cal Ulberg.
