Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park
4.8 (2,668)park
Dramatic tilted rock formations give this park its cinematic silhouette, long favored by Hollywood and hikers alike.
Description

Set on 945 acres in Agua Dulce, the park preserves the ancestral Tataviam village of Mapipinga alongside protected habitat for native flora and fauna. Routes through the terrain range from the 3.4-mile Apwinga Loop to a connecting segment of the Pacific Crest Trail and the Rock Shelter Vista Trail. Visitors can stop by an interpretive center that features educational programs and animal ambassadors. The landscape offers little shade under direct sun, though rain and cooler temperatures between fall and spring bring seasonal greenery across the open ground.
