Vanguard Wine Bar (Midtown West)

A few minutes from Times Square, this space stays quiet and cozy. The wine list is skewed toward French selections alongside plenty of American options. The kitchen serves contemporary small plates, including baked Camembert with apricot preserves, meat and cheese boards, and savory mushroom tartines. Note the service setup: ordering is done at the bar, and some guests have flagged the service as occasionally lacking. It operates entirely on a walk-in basis.
