The museum's own artwork listing places Van Gogh's Portrait of a Peasant, painted in August 1888, in its European galleries. Its published admission page has adults at twenty dollars, visitors 62 and over at fifteen, and anyone 18 or under entering free, as do students with a current ID. Doors open at noon and close at 5 PM, except Friday and Saturday, when they stay open until 7 PM. Last entry for visitors without a ticket is 4:15 PM, or 6:15 PM on those nights.
🍺 A British pub in Old Town
Old Town is a 0.6-mile walk east along Colorado Boulevard to Raymond Avenue. Lucky Baldwin's, at 17 South Raymond, posts 9 AM to 1:30 AM every day, with the kitchen open through the afternoon. Its happy hour runs Monday through Thursday, 2 PM to 6 PM, then again from 10 PM until close. The tap list runs long, and the menu covers fish and chips and burgers.

Go on Thursday, not Friday. The galleries open at noon and close at 5 PM, last entry 4:15 PM, and Lucky Baldwin's happy hour runs 2 to 6 PM the same afternoon. Start at the museum at noon, leave around four, and the 0.6-mile walk east lands you at the pub with nearly two hours of it left. Friday does not work the same way: the galleries stay open until 7 PM, but happy hour runs Monday to Thursday only. That includes the museum's free window, the first Friday of the month from 4 to 7 PM, which falls on a day the pub has no happy hour. Thursday also brings a second round from 10 PM to 1:30 AM if you start late.
