Description

Constructed in 1967 at the former Naval Training Center, the stationary vessel was built as a concrete mock-up of a destroyer escort. Commissioned under the designation TDE-1, it served as a hands-on training facility where recruits learned seamanship, shipboard life, and naval operations before setting foot on an afloat warship. Today, the ship remains preserved within the Liberty Station development, noted by visitors for its condition and strong nostalgia for NTC veterans.
