Description

Established by philanthropist Elizabeth Holmes Fisher, the museum operates as both a civic cultural space and a training laboratory for graduate art history students. Permanent holdings reach across eras, featuring the Armand Hammer Collection, 20th- and 21st-century works, and specialized gifts like the Dr. Eugene Rogolsky Collection. Rotating presentations range from heavyweight solo exhibitions by artists such as Kara Walker and Louise Bourgeois to live performances and discussions, all set within architecture designed to connect directly with outdoor campus courtyards.
