A landmark Art Deco stop on the Chitlin' Circuit, being revived as a community venue and Black music museum.
Description

Designed by Magaziner, Eberhard & Harris and built in 1927, the theater earned spots on both the National and Philadelphia Registers of Historic Places in 1982. Its active run on the Chitlin' Circuit spanned from 1951 to 1978. Owned and managed by the Uptown Entertainment & Development Corporation, the building is mapped out for a revitalization project running from 2026 to 2028 that will add a technology center and commercial leasing space alongside its restored performance stage.
