Up Mulholland for Wine, Down to Paradise Cove by Van

A shared van day from Malibu Pier up to a Mulholland tasting room, then down to Point Dume and Paradise Cove.

Ride up Mulholland for wine, then down to Paradise Cove.

This shared van day pairs Malibu's coast with the wine country high in the Santa Monica Mountains behind it. The listing's route stops at Malibu Pier, climbs Mulholland Highway to Cornell Wine Co. and The Old Place, then comes back down to the coast for Point Dume, Paradise Cove and Malibu Country Mart.

When checked on 9 October 2026, the tour had just two remaining departures for 2026: Monday 23 November and Friday 25 December (Christmas Day). With the 2027 calendar currently blocked, those two dates are the only windows to plan around. Cornell Wine Co.'s own site lists it closed Monday to Wednesday and opening at noon on Fridays, so ask the operator through the booking what the wine stop will be on your date.

One departure, at 10:00 AM. On both open dates the listing charges USD 70 per adult aged 18 to 65, USD 65 for seniors 66 and over, and USD 60 for ages 1 to 17. Gratuities are not included.

  • Group: a shared van of up to 12 travelers, and the listing says the tour only becomes available once three or more have booked
  • Length: four and a half hours on the listing; the operator's own page says five and adds that it usually runs over
  • Cancellation: full refund up to 24 hours before departure; the listing also lets the operator cancel for bad weather or too few travelers
  • Drinks: the wine is for travelers 21 and over, and you can bring your own food and drinks

Cornell's Tasting Room, Up on Mulholland

The wine stop is 45 minutes at Cornell Wine Co. and The Old Place on Mulholland Highway, in what the listing calls a rustic old-west setting. The listing pitches it as a chance to drink wine, eat, see the peacocks or take a short nature walk.

What the ticket covers is narrower. The inclusions are snacks, wine and water, and nothing in them covers a tasting flight or a meal at the stops. The on-board wine is poured in paper cups and snacks are packaged chips and nuts. Treat the van as a rolling cooler, and expect to pay for whatever you taste or eat at Cornell.

Point Dume and Paradise Cove, Lunch on You

Back on the coast, the listing gives Point Dume 20 minutes for a walk through the natural preserve above the beach. Paradise Cove follows with 30 minutes. The listing describes it as a small cove just south of Point Dume with its own fishing pier, tidepools and a seafood restaurant. Since late August 2026, State Parks has posted that the road down to the lower beach lot is closed; the bluff-top preserve is reached from Cliffside Drive.

Meals are not part of the day. Some travelers ate at the stops; others wrote that the schedule left little time for it. The longest stop is the last one: the listing gives Malibu Country Mart 120 minutes, with restaurants, bars and shops.

Two Meeting Points on One Listing

The listing is not consistent about where the van picks up. Its meeting details give 23500 Civic Center Way in Malibu, at Legacy Park, with free street parking or the Santa Monica College campus across the street, and say to look for a white van with green stripes. Its redemption notes link a second map pin at 18711 Pacific Coast Highway, the former Topanga Ranch Motel. California State Parks says that motel complex was destroyed in the 2025 Palisades Fire, so the parking notes attached to that pin are out of date.

Travelers' accounts differ too: a 2022 reviewer met at Malibu Country Mart, and a 2024 reviewer parked at Topanga Ranch Motel, before the fire. Check which address your confirmation shows before you drive, and if it still lists both, ask the operator through the booking which one is current.

What the Van Is Like

The listing calls the vehicle an open-air bus with air conditioning and a premium sound system, with your choice of music. Travelers describe a passenger van with open window sections. Highway speeds make the open window sections quite windy, while other seats sit in an enclosed section where windows stay fixed. Bring a light layer and a hair tie.

The listing also ticks three general notes: suitable for all physical fitness levels, specialized infant seats available, and public transportation nearby. The operator's own page repeats none of them. Use the special-requirements field when booking to confirm a car seat, a mobility need or anything else the day depends on.

📍 The listing's meeting details give Legacy Park, 23500 Civic Center Way, Malibu; its other map pin, at 18711 Pacific Coast Highway, points to a site lost in the 2025 Palisades Fire. The van leaves at 10:00 AM.

The day ends at Malibu Country Mart on Cross Creek Road, and the listing leaves you free to stay on there for the rest of the day, between its shops, its restaurants and the Malibu Lagoon.
