The night starts nine floors up beside a hotel pool in the Medical Center, drops into a downtown post office turned food hall with a free rooftop park, and finishes in a black tiled room off Polk Street where comedy and bands trade the stage until 2 AM.

Start high and slow
Bar9 sits on the ninth floor of the Hilton beside the pool, split into seven seating pockets of couches, fire tables, and misting fans. Local craft beer, wine, and small plates carry the early evening while the skyline turns orange. Service runs Tuesday through Friday from 4 PM and Saturday from 1 PM, weather permitting. Check the receipt for a dine in fee that guests report showing up unannounced.
Refuel where mail once moved
A short drive north, the old downtown mail sorting building now holds a food hall, shops, and a rooftop deck that costs nothing to walk. Kitchens stay open until 9 PM most nights and until 10 PM from Thursday through Saturday. Makers markets fill the ground floor on event weekends. Parking is free for the first sixty minutes, which is tight for dinner and the roof.
Stay for the second set
Polk Street ends the night in a checkerboard tiled building where the marquee lists open mic, comedy, and whatever band is loading in. The room is compact with limited seats, and the floor pit moves during themed DJ nights. Upstairs, a rooftop patio gives a place to step out between sets. Doors stay open until 2 AM, and construction nearby can complicate the last block.
