University Park
4.3 (44)park
A relaxed North Portland green pairing broad ballfields and an accessible playground with generous tree shade.
Description

Acquired in 1953 in North Portland’s Portsmouth neighborhood, the 11.49-acre park takes its name from Portland University, the 1891 Methodist college whose original campus hall later joined the University of Portland.
On the ground, sports spaces include dedicated soccer, softball, and baseball fields bordered by paved walking paths and mature trees. The park's playground incorporates a ramp, transfer station, and sensory play elements set over an engineered mulch surface, accompanied by picnic tables and open turf suited for casual dog walks.
