Description

Founded in 2016 by UMass Boston's Art & Art History Department on the first floor of University Hall, the gallery stages three to four exhibitions each year accompanied by public events and occasional printed publications. Its schedule balances solo showcases from artists like Mellisa Shook, Richard Yarde, and Joiri Minaya with group surveys featuring figures such as Julie Mehretu, Glenn Ligon, and Jenny Holzer. Exhibitions center on cultural and social pluralism and visual literacy, maintaining open firsthand access to contemporary art for both the campus community and the wider public.
