Started in 1971, the institute grew out of a belief in the power of art to preserve culture, memory, and freedom. Today, it brings artists and audiences together across cultures and borders, anchored by a permanent collection featuring works by Alexander Archipenko, Alexis Gritchenko, Michel Andreenko, Richard Hunt, Thomas Kapsalis, and Michiko Itani.
