Two Hours Through Temecula in a Sidecar Built for Two
A chauffeur takes the wheel and you ride alongside in a car built for two, low enough to the road to get the vineyard dust.
Temecula is laid out for cars. The wineries sit along Rancho California Road and Calle Contento with long gravel driveways between them, and most visitors see the valley through a windshield.
A sidecar changes the height and the speed. You sit low, roughly at wheel level, with no door and no roof, and the driver keeps to the back roads where that is worth doing. The route runs two fixed hours and ends where it started.
No alcohol is included in this booking. The far end of the route is looser than the listing makes it look.

Departures leave from Akash Winery at 39730 Calle Contento, which the company also gives as its headquarters address. Four start times are listed: 10:00 and 10:30 in the morning, 1:30 and 2:00 in the afternoon. One booking takes up to fifteen travelers.
Private Sidecar Adventure Tour through TemeculaTwo fixed hours in a tandem sidecar with a private chauffeur, departing and returning at Akash Winery. Private transportation is included. Snacks, alcohol and gratuities are not.www.viator.comWhat a Tandem Sidecar Actually Holds

Sidecar Tours rebuilt the standard sidecar to seat two people side by side, and describes it as the first and only tandem sidecar of its kind. Two guests ride in the car. With a larger group the company can also seat one guest behind the driver, which makes three per bike.
The limits are physical and worth knowing before you book. The company gives a maximum height of six foot eight for two people to fit comfortably, and a combined weight limit of 650 pounds for the pair in the car.
Drivers are assigned, not chosen. The company reserves the right to change your driver for scheduling reasons.
What the Far End Holds, Picked on the Day

The itinerary lists a single destination, and which one you get is settled on the day. The three the operator files with the platform are Lake Skinner, the hill country near Akash, and the Sugar Plum Petting Zoo, which now trades as Sugarplum Zoo and Chocolates. You cannot pick which one, and riders describe getting more than the single stop the listing files.
Three riders between 2023 and 2024 put it that way: viewpoints and the petting zoo on one ride, longhorn steers along the road, and a driver who arranged an unplanned walk through a winery with the owners for guests who had said they were not there to taste. Nothing in the booking promises any of that.
Between the start and that stop the route is back roads. Akash sits on Calle Contento, a narrow lane lined with cypress and olive trees running between vineyard blocks, and the gravel stretches are where an open car earns its keep.
The ride returns to the same fountain it left from.
Helmets Decide Who Gets a Seat
The company's published minor policy puts its tours at ages eight and up, and the real test is the helmet. A minor can ride if a small adult helmet fits securely; if it does not, they must bring their own DOT-approved one. Minors ride accompanied by an adult.
Two points where the platform's checkboxes and the operator's own pages disagree:
- The listing is marked stroller accessible and says infants may sit on laps. The operator's minor policy starts at eight, and its priced age bands start at six.
- The listing is marked for service animals. The operator's terms state that no pets are allowed, because the sidecar is open.
The operator's own page is what its drivers work from. Its office line is 951-840-0931.
Rain Moves the Date, Not the Money
The booking is final. The platform lists it as all sales final with no refund, and the operator's own terms say the same in one line.
What weather changes is the date:
- At a 50 percent or higher chance of rain, snow or hail, the operator reschedules the tour.
- Below 50 percent, you can ask to reschedule with 24 hours' notice.
- Inside 24 hours, rescheduling costs 50 dollars.
- At 50 percent precipitation or more, the operator may instead change the means of transport to each destination, with no refund and no reduced rate.
Two riders describe the other thing that moves a date. One had a confirmed slot pushed to the next day after a mix-up between the driver and Viator. One spent months on unanswered calls, emails and web messages trying to get a prepaid voucher scheduled at all, and heard back only after tracking down a manager directly. Both wrote warmly about the ride itself.
Checking the forecast the day before is the operator's own instruction, and it is the cheapest item here. Confirming the date on the operator's office line is the step those two reviews point at.

Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early, which the operator asks for in writing. Tickets are mobile, one per booking.
The lane out of Akash runs between cypress and olive trees before it opens onto the vineyard blocks, and that first quarter mile is the part people describe when they get back.
