A Two-Hour Art Deco Miami Tour in an Antique Convertible

Ride an open antique convertible through Miami Beach, the Design District, and Wynwood before returning to the coast.

Cruise Miami's Art Deco streets in an antique convertible.

The car is the reason to book this one. It is an American antique convertible with the top down, and it belongs to your party for the full two hours. One price covers the vehicle, up to five people.

The route runs the Art Deco strip on Miami Beach, crosses Biscayne Bay, and works through the Design District, Wynwood and Downtown before coming back. Live commentary runs from the front seat the whole way.

Departures start and finish at the same address on Collins Avenue. The operator asks you to name the departure time you want when you place the order, and bookings made inside 72 hours have to go through a phone call.

English and French guides are listed. Bottled water and all taxes are in the price. Gratuities are not.

The Beach Side: Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue

The Art Deco Historic District holds what the operator calls the world's biggest concentration of Art Deco, and the drive takes Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue straight through it. The Versace Mansion sits on that stretch. Millionaire's Row comes up further north on Collins.

Two more landmarks arrive on the beach side. The Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach, a sculpture set in a landscaped enclosure on Meridian Avenue. The Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater, one block west of Collins on Washington Avenue.

Every landmark on the itinerary is a drive-past. The car halts only for souvenir photos. That one fact decides who this suits. Two hours of moving commentary with the top down, and no queue, no ticket, no turnstile.

Across the Bay to the Design District

The car leaves the beach on the Julia Tuttle Causeway, open water on both sides.

The Design District comes first on the mainland. Luxury retail fills it, and the architecture went up alongside the shopping. A parking garage on its edge carries sculpted car bodies across the facade, which is fair warning about how literal the district gets.

Wynwood follows. Its warehouse walls get repainted on a rolling basis, and the same route reads differently from one year to the next.

What Private Buys Here

Pricing here is by the vehicle. The car takes up to five, and five people pay what one person pays. A couple books the same car on the same terms.

Three cars sit in the operator's published fleet: a 1960 Buick Electra 225 convertible, a 1959 Edsel Corsair, and a 1959 Ford Skyliner with a retractable hardtop. The booking form asks for a pickup point and any special requirements. It does not ask which car you want.

The guide rides along and talks the whole way. English and French are the listed languages, and the operator notes the guide may be multi-lingual.

Two hours is fixed. Longer versions of the same drive run at three and four hours, and the operator invites you to ask for them.

Downtown, Bayside, and the Way Back

The route carries on into Downtown Miami. The Freedom Tower is the marker there, with Bayside on the water past it.

The return crosses back to Miami Beach on either the MacArthur Causeway or the Venetian Way. Which one depends on the day.

A few conditions travel with an open car:

  • It operates in hot weather, and the operator tells you to dress for it
  • Poor weather can cancel a departure, with an alternative date or a full refund offered in certain cases
  • The trip is listed as suitable for all physical fitness levels
  • One ticket covers the whole booking, and a mobile or paper ticket is accepted

Cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time and the refund is full.

📍 The car picks up and drops off at The National Hotel, 1677 Collins Ave, Miami Beach. Pickup from selected areas nearby can be arranged. Outside those areas it is not included.

Name the departure time you want in the order. The drive finishes where it started, on Collins Avenue, with the Deco fronts back on both sides.
