Two Hours of Chicken Tenders Under a Glass Dome

Chefs bring signature tenders and sauces to Navy Pier for an all-you-can-taste session with cocktails and live music.

🍗 One Dish, Many Kitchens

🧂 What Comes Out of the Kitchens

Chefs from across the city each bring one version of the same dish, and the differences land in the breading and the dip. Buttermilk brines, cornflake crusts and Nashville heat all turn up in the same room. Sauces are where most kitchens actually compete, and several pour theirs to order. Tasting is unlimited across the session. Cocktails and live music run alongside the tables rather than on a separate stage. Plates are small, and the point is breadth rather than volume.

🏛️ The Room It Happens In

The Aon Grand Ballroom sits at the far end of Navy Pier under a domed roof of steel ribs and glass. Light changes across the ceiling through the afternoon. The dome carries sound, and the room gets loud once it fills. Tables ring the floor with space to circle back. Lake Michigan shows through the arched windows on three sides, and the walk out along the pier is part of the trip. Coat check sits near the entrance, and the floor stays flat throughout.

⏱️ Working the Session

The session runs from noon to two in the afternoon on Saturday, October 10, at Navy Pier. Two hours goes fast across a full room of kitchens. Start at the far end, where the queues build last. Pace the sauces rather than the tenders. Navy Pier parking fills early on weekends and the Lake Shore buses drop closer. Anyone after a quiet sit-down lunch should book a table somewhere else. Water stations are worth finding early in the session.
