Two Hours Across Downtown Knoxville, With Ice Cream and Coffee Covered
A local-led walk from the Old City down Gay Street and over the bridge, where the river, the skyline and the stadium line up.
Knoxville's downtown sits on a bluff above the Tennessee River, and the ground between the Old City and the water holds about a century and a half of building. Two hours on foot is enough to cross all of it.
Brandon Pouncy runs this walk himself for groups capped at ten. Everything on the route stays outdoors, and no part of it requires an admission ticket.

The group forms outside Barley's Taproom & Pizzeria at 200 East Jackson Avenue, in the Old City. Free parking sits under the bridge a few seconds past the door, in the Old City lot.
Downtown Knoxville Hidden Tour w/ Ice Cream, Coffee & Tennessee River GemsA 120-minute guided walk through downtown Knoxville for up to ten travelers, with the ice cream and the coffee covered by the guide.www.viator.comWhat the Route Covers on Foot

The walk leaves the Old City's brick warehouse blocks for Gay Street, the downtown spine, and passes the Bijou and the Tennessee, two theatres a couple of blocks apart on the same street. Every stop on the route is read from the sidewalk; the walk passes these buildings without going inside.
Street level is what the format is built on. Facades, corners and the gaps between blocks carry the dates, and a guide moving through them in order can put the sequence back together.
The Bridge, the River, and What 1982 Left

The route crosses the Tennessee River on foot. From the bridge the water, the downtown bluff and Neyland Stadium line up in a single view, and the return leg gives the same scene in reverse.
Knoxville hosted the 1982 World's Fair, and the Sunsphere is what stayed behind: a gold-glazed sphere on a steel tower, still standing over the fair site at the western edge of downtown. The walk passes it rather than going up it.
The Group, the Guide, and the Snack Stop
Groups run to ten travelers at most and the tour is shared rather than private. Commentary is in English, and one guide carries the full two hours.
The ice cream and the coffee are covered by the guide, not settled up at the end. The operator describes the ice cream stop as the Local Farm and lists the coffee as a separate covered item.
Fitness and Access
The operator asks for at least a moderate level of physical fitness and notes that the full two hours includes the walking time. The tour is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries.
The listing adds that infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller, that specialized infant seats are available, and that service animals are allowed. Public transportation runs nearby.
Departures run Saturdays only, at 12:00 PM, and booking closes at 9:00 AM on the day of the walk. Confirmation is instant and the ticket is mobile; show the booking confirmation to the guide at the meeting point.
Adults are USD 79.99 and children aged 5 to 17 are USD 19.99. Cancel at least 24 hours before the start time for a full refund; inside 24 hours nothing is refundable.
📍 The group meets in front of Barley's Taproom & Pizzeria, 200 East Jackson Avenue, Knoxville, in the Old City. Free parking is in the Old City lot under the bridge.
