Two Finds Worth a Closer Look
A Hyattsville boutique and a Seattle museum cafe, discovered separately.
A clothing-and-home-goods shop with a community side; a cafe inside a museum on Lake Union. These two finds reward a closer look for different reasons. One is in Hyattsville, Maryland, and the other is in Seattle, Washington: think of them as separate city discoveries, not consecutive stops.

Nest Proper Boutique brings clothing and home goods together on Baltimore Avenue in Hyattsville. Alongside its retail shelves, the shop also provides a setting for local events and community gatherings. The appeal is that combination: a place to browse distinctive apparel and home pieces with a community-minded side.

At Gourmondo at MOHAI, the setting is part of the find. The cafe sits inside MOHAI along Lake Union in Seattle and serves artisan sandwiches, fresh salads and house-baked pastries. Gourmet boxed lunches are also part of its offering, giving museum visitors and locals another way to make a meal of the stop.
More places to keep in mind
For other city plans: Subway on James Street in Seattle serves sandwiches, wraps and salads; Just Poke Renton Landing offers custom bowls and sushi burritos in Renton; and Courthouse River Plaza Fountain offers an outdoor pause in Arlington, Virginia. These are separate options, not stops on one walk.
