Start on the odd-numbered side at 333 Marcus Garvey Boulevard. Confessions Bar is a Bed-Stuy cocktail lounge with elegant decor and the warm, attentive feel of a family-run business. On Friday nights a live DJ sets the soundtrack, kept low enough to keep talking at the tables, and staff are known to join the singing and dancing. Drinks are reasonably priced and groups are easy to seat. Doors open at 4:30 PM Tuesday through Saturday and at 3:00 PM on Sunday, with Friday and Saturday running until 2:00 AM.
🌿 Lucky's Cocktail Lounge, the Backyard Side
Directly across at 334, Lucky's Cocktail Lounge is a Black woman-owned bar with a relaxed backyard and chill, low-volume music. Bartenders tailor drinks to your taste, including the Knock on Wood cocktail, and the kitchen sends out catfish strips and wings alongside them. Happy hour runs 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday through Sunday and all evening on Monday, the one night Confessions stays dark. Tuesdays bring 5-dollar tacos and tequila. For bigger gatherings, an intimate private dining room takes bookings with a 10-guest minimum.
🔁 How to Split the Night
The two doors sit close enough to change rooms between rounds. Start at Lucky's for happy hour before 7:00 PM, when the backyard and the food menu set an easy pace. Cross the boulevard to Confessions once the evening settles in, and on Fridays the DJ takes over with a soundtrack that still leaves room for conversation. Lucky's closes at midnight. Confessions pours until 2:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays, which makes it the natural last stop of the night.
