Turtle Canyon Off Waikiki, With Guides Swimming Alongside
A two-hour boat snorkel from Kewalo Basin to Turtle Canyon, with guides who stay in the water and flotation for first-timers.
Living Ocean Tours runs this trip from Kewalo Basin Harbor on Coral Kai, a 50-foot boat the operator lists at 40 passengers maximum. The boat follows the Waikiki coast to Turtle Canyon, a reef off Waikiki where green sea turtles gather.
The detail to look at is who goes in with you. The snorkel guides enter the water with the group and stay there for the whole snorkel, leading people across the reef and pointing out turtles and fish. The operator puts the in-water time at about one hour of the two.

This listing is the operator's standard Turtle Canyon trip with one option, sold per person. Gear, flotation, light snacks, soft drinks and water are in the price. Hotel pickup and gratuities are not.
Waikiki Turtle Canyon Guided Snorkel: Turtle GuaranteeTwo-hour boat snorkel from Kewalo Basin to Turtle Canyon, with in-water guides, gear, flotation vests and light snacks. Ages 3 and up.www.viator.comAn Hour Over a Reef the Turtles Use as a Cleaning Station

The operator describes Turtle Canyon as a cleaning station. Turtles float above the reef while surgeonfish and wrasse pick at their shells, and the turtles keep returning to the same reef for it. The operator says turtles are spotted on most of its trips, and they can often be seen from the deck when they surface for air.
Watch the water on the ride back too. Spinner dolphins are a chance on any day, and the operator lists humpback whales as a winter possibility from December to April.
Vests, a Snorkel School, and a Seat on Deck

New snorkelers get instruction before going in, and lifejackets and snorkel vests are on board. The listing asks for basic swimming ability for the water portion. The operator adds that guests who never get comfortable in the water can still watch the turtles and reef fish from the boat.
Full-face snorkel masks are not allowed on this boat. The operator points to research linking them to a higher risk of passing out during exertion, and supplies traditional masks instead. Masks, snorkels and fins come with the trip. Prescription masks rent at the boat for ten dollars, contact lenses are fine, and glasses cannot go under a mask.
What the Turtle Guarantee Covers
The Turtle Guarantee is part of this booking listing. If the snorkel group sees no sea turtle during the in-water part of the trip, everyone on that trip can come back for another Turtle Canyon tour within 12 months, subject to availability.
Three and Up, With an Adult, and No Alcohol Aboard
The minimum age is 3. Anyone under 18 needs a paying adult on the trip, and a guardian completes the liability waiver online ahead of time. The listing does not recommend the trip during pregnancy or for travelers with poor cardiovascular health. The operator's own reasons for the pregnancy advice are slow access to emergency care, motion sickness and the risk of a fall on deck.
Alcohol is not permitted on this trip. Seasickness medication needs to be taken before you arrive, and the listing says none is available on the boat. Bring a towel, sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses, and wear your swimsuit to the harbor.
📍 Meet at the boat Coral Kai, Slip B-1 on Pier B in Kewalo Basin Boat Harbor, off Ala Moana Boulevard. The map pin marks the harbor itself; walk the piers to B-1. Be at the boat 30 minutes before departure. It leaves on time, and late arrivals lose the ticket with no refund. Finish the online waiver before you come.
The harbor lot is paid parking and not part of the ticket. The operator's pages quote two dollars an hour, paid by QR code on the lot signs, and the booking page lists a five-dollar fee at the pay machines. Weekend spaces run short, and a taxi or rideshare skips the search.
Full refunds apply up to 24 hours before departure. The operator calls off trips for unsafe weather or heavy rain and offers a new date, while weather refunds go through the platform where you booked. Gratuities are not included, and the operator lists crew tips as optional. After the snorkel the deck has shade, sun and a restroom, with snacks for the cruise back past Diamond Head.
