Description

Founded in 1901 by Anna Hertzberg to study, promote, and perform music as a fine art, the organization holds the distinction of being Texas's oldest musical club for women. Its annual lineup includes approximately 12 free programs from September to May, incorporating music-focused educational lectures alongside concert programming. The 1949 clubhouse, designed by architect Atlee Ayres, sits adjacent to the Japanese Tea Garden, with an exterior featuring busts of classical composers and a bronze statue by sculptor Pompeo Coppini.
