Bed-Stuy Friday Night of Trivia, Parlor Jazz and a Late DJ
Trivia on Patchen from 4 PM, BYOB jazz and a fish fry in a brownstone parlor, then a DJ lounge open until 2 AM.
📍 Patchen, Macon and Marcus Garvey
🧠 Start at Marian's Brooklyn
Open the night at Marian's Brooklyn on Patchen Avenue, where doors open at 4:00 PM and Friday brings trivia. The weekly calendar runs deeper than one night, with a Thursday jazz jam in the small back-room performance space and stand-up every other Wednesday. Up front, the bar pours draft beer, wine and custom drinks alongside casual bar bites. Marian's closes at midnight on Fridays, an easy handoff to the next stop.

🎷 Live Jazz in a Brownstone Parlor
From 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, BrownstoneJAZZ on Macon Street opens a 19th-century brownstone parlor to live straight-ahead jazz. Sets pair with a traditional Southern-style fish fry and community hospitality. The BYOB policy covers drinks and snacks, and a bottle tucked under the arm is the move here. Arrive near the start of the evening for the full set.

🎧 Finish With the DJ at Confessions
When the parlor wraps at 11:00 PM, Confessions Bar on Marcus Garvey Boulevard still has three hours to go on Fridays. The cocktail lounge pairs elegant decor with exceptionally warm hospitality, and the Friday DJ keeps the soundtrack low enough to chat at the tables. Staff are known to join in the singing and dancing, and drinks are reasonably priced. Doors close at 2:00 AM.
