Once an illegal dump, this 120-acre haven offers peaceful nature trails and an architect-designed visitor center.
Description

Set on the outskirts of Dallas, the sanctuary preserves a pocket of Blackland Prairie that shelters birds and wildlife across an urbanizing region. The grounds feature an Antoine Predock-designed, LEED Gold visitor center equipped with educational exhibits and interactive spaces dedicated to conservation research and community action. Stepping outdoors, nearly five miles of nature trails branch through the property, allowing visitors to engage directly with the surrounding environment.
