Copley Square is an open green in Boston's Back Bay, named for the painter John Singleton Copley. Trinity Church anchors one side, the Boston Public Library holds the other, and the John Hancock Tower rises behind them.
The square's signature sight is the way Trinity Church appears mirrored across the Hancock Tower's blue-glass face. Benches and lawn give visitors room to sit and take in the stonework, spires, and reflections from the center of the plaza.
Steps lead up to the library's arched entrance, and cafes and restaurants line the streets around the green. The square stays busy through the day, drawing office workers, students, and visitors between Back Bay's landmarks.
