Triangle Park
4.0 (67)park
A Rogers Park green shaped by neighbors since the 1940s, featuring a community orchard and an outdoor fitness course.
Description

Created in the late 1940s after buildings were cleared along North Juneway Terrace, the playlot took shape through direct local initiative. In 1946, neighborhood families organized to build what was originally called Juneway Terrace Baby Park, relying on parents and older children for construction labor and neighborhood mothers who signed up for supervision shifts.
By the mid-1980s, the grounds took on community gardening that matched the site's triangular footprint, and a vacated street section later knit the land together. The space runs with no structured programming, keeping this 2.16-acre plot an unhurried neighborhood green.
